About Me

My photo
Deb Baer Becker
An American woman living in Texas, United States
I started this blog in 2009 when I was diagnosed with lobular invasive breast cancer, stage IIB, with one affected lymph node. Treatment included chemo-therapy, double mastectomy with reconstruction, radiation, and the adjuvant therapy drugs, first Tamoxifen and now Exesmestane, which I call the Bitch Pill. Writing this blog helped me make sense out of the chaos of cancer diagnosis and treatment, and find a bit of humor within the suffering. Five years later, I find that survivorship has its own challenges and triumphs. We're all survivors of something, or maybe many things. I hope that my blog posts translate help to anyone who finds herself knotted up in this great adventure we call Life. This is my intention. I've been a columnist for WOMAN Newspapers since 2008. http://www.womannewspapers.com/ Check it out.
